obtained leave of absence for a year,
to study at Chicago University, for
his Ph.D. degree.

At tiresent there is no classifica
tion in the association to designate
the highest standing members, as is
the case with medical schools. It has
nroved to be a nroblem to examining
boards and pharmacy schools. Under
the new plan Dean Lyman hopes to
have the schools classed in grades of
A, B, and C.

Another specimen of interest is J
nine-foot mammoth tusk discovered
by J. Snyder near Arapahoe in sand
or.lv 22 feet below the
surface. The tusk has a perfect tip,
which is a rarity in specimens of this
kind. It, was split into three parts by
the workmen, but can be mended per-
fectly. The specimen will be aaaea
to the Morrill collection.

earthworks were recently mapped
near Lake Gcgonsa by the Wiscon
tia Archeolcgkal society.
