TBI DAILY NEBRASKA SHOW HINDERS BUSKER SQUAD Oearg Moves Grid.ter. to Space Under Eait Stand of Stadium HAVE PRACTICE INDOORS Snow and yet nwre snow. A four and one-half inch blanket on the utadium hI yesterday forced Coach K. E. flear-jr to move his prae tlciuff jrrid qund indoors for a while The ynow has at lat become a real hindrance. The gridstcr yesterday went through anappy ffcrtiv drill un der the eaat stand of the stadium. Two teams were running through dummy scrimmaire, and in spite of the handicap of limited apace, got food drill out of it. . It was seen too, however, that the kickers on the uad took their daily doeen. Part of the snow was scraped away from the stadium field and Brown, Dailey, Manderry, Locke, Rhodes and Mielent took a workout on kicks of every variety. After the drill under the stadium the team was moved to the regular field and there ran signals for a short time. The snow, of course, is a handicap to the Huskers, but it is not so seri ous as it would be without the space under the stands. Nebraska is in deed fortunate to have a covererd space such as this. Use Every Foot of Stadiam Space Yesterday Coach Henry Schulte was holding a numeral track meet on his track his track aspirants were running on the cinders and using the south half of the arena. At the north end were the gridsters, and so every foot of space was in use. The Oklahoma squad arrives here this morning with a squad of hus kies bent on taking the large end of a score Saturday. From all present , indications, it looks as if the best swimmers will win, as the melting of the snow will make the rlaying field soft and muddy. j On yesterday's first string were Locke, Rhodes, Avard Mandery, and Brown. On the line were Sprague, Stiner, Raish, Hutchinson, Scholt, Ed Weir and Joe Weir. Fresnell was shifted to work with the seconds, Frank Dailey, fleet half back, is being given a try-out at quar terback in Stephens" absence. The loss of Stephens' passing is still no ticeable, and Dailey is being trained as a possible reserve for Brown. Heretofore Wickman has been the only other quarter on which Coach Bearg could rely. The starting lineup tomorow will probably consist of the same mtn who were playing first string yester day, with the possible exception of Presnell in the backfield. Snow Stops Freshmen Football Practice for First Time This Year For the first time this year the weather put a crimp in the freshman football practice. A blanket of snow which covered all the playing fields made any outdoor work im possible. The Varsity occupied a part under the stadium and the try outs for the track numerals toik up the rest of the room. The freshmen enjoyed this forced delay and should be back next week stronger than ever. H ia very seldom that snow will stop football practice this time of the year but the coaching staff has no power over the elements. SECOND TRACK MEET IS HELD Numeral Event Are Run on Indoor Oval on Account Of Severe Weather GOOD TIME IS RECORDED The second numeral track meet of the season was held on the indoor track under the east stands of the stadium yesterday because of the ' severe cold. The runners unaecus-j tomed to the indoor conditions were somewhat slower than on the cinder oval last week.
