Hasing At Si
Hasing is a thing of the past as far
as Syracuse University is concerned.
Whatever vestige remains of the old

"How much can I get through the
year on?" is a question that occas
ions more thought among college
students than does the most difficult
U igononietry problem. A recent sur
vey at the University of Denver
shows that the average male student
spends about $600 a year. The co
eds find it necessary to spend about
$800. The resident student can get
along on $50 a year if he does not
have to pay room and board. The
survey also brought out tie fact that
the fraternity man spends more than
the non-fraternity student. The low
est estimate submitted was $300
and the highest $1,300.

It's a great aid to scholastic efficiency"
ONE professor makes thia remark, and countless others are saying
the same thing. They kpow the value of a typewriter as a time
saver, as a means of compiling data, and as a help in the expres
sion of thought. Then too, it freas the "prof from that tedious
task of deciphering longhand, and keeps him in perfect "reading
humor." And perfect "reading humor" tends to mean better marks.
