OBSERVE ANNUAL PASSIOH SERVICE Women's Association Holds Sacred Vesper Ceremony , Tuesday Evening. The annual vesper Passion service of the Y. W. C. A. was conducted in Ellen Smith Hall at B o'clock Tues day evening. Tho program consist ed of music, prayer, and the reading of tho Passion by Miss Frances Weintz. Miss Olive Fletcher played tho piano softly while tho audience was gathering. Miss Burdotto Tay lor, accompanied by Lob Ord, played a violin solo, and tho Misses Blanche and Constance Stevens sang a sacred duct The program began with tho pro cessional, "There is a Green Hill," by the choir, and was followed by prayer and the singing of the hymn, "Have Wo No Tears?" After the reading of the Passion by Miss Weintz and the violin solo by Miss Taylor, the choir sang "The Re proaches," an ancient devotion of the church setting forth in figures drawn from Hebrew history a recital of God's love and of man's ingratitude Miss Virginia ,Nevill sang the solo parts. The service ended with a silent benediction and the singing of tho re cessional hymn, "In the Cross of Christ I Glory." Twenty Years Ago The Chicago White Sox won a hot ly contested game from tho Varsity by a score of 0 to 4. A feature of the game was the homb run by Cap tain Bender of Nebraska which was responsible for two of Nebraska's tallies. This was the first time sinco '96 that a major league team appear ed in Lincoln. The game arrouscd considerable interest and a large crowd attended.
