Work on plays and some scrim
mage was the program for Varsity
basketball practice yesterday after
noon. Coach Kline put his men
through practice plays against the
second-string men for the early part
of the workout and followed that
with stiff scrimmage.
Among Kline's Varsity men in the
red suits were Captain Volz, Usher,
and Goodson. Rough edges showed
all over the squad and there are
many points to be improved. The
practice on plays showed prominent
defects in the makeup of the team,
the seconds breaking up formations
time after time.
Scrimmage grew stiffer as the
workout progressed, but was not as
fast as mid-season practice. Over a
month remains before the first game,
to be played at Manhattan, Kansas,
against the Kansas Aggies. The sea
son will open with a trip to the Ag
gies and to Oklahoma, at Norman.
Declares That New and Insidious
Disease Is Attacking Universities
A new disease has attacked the
universities of the country, and ac
cording to the Daily Kansan, "It is
more insidious than halitosis, more
deadly than female hate, more catch
ing than mumps, and more time-
snatching than a semester theme.
Even the professors are not im
mune to this dread nlatrue that is
