UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI, Columbia, M., Sept. 28. Football practice yesterday afternoon was characterised by its length. Coach Gwinn Henry kept his squad on the field from S to 6:30 o'clock. "It takes lots of time when you're working slowly and spending lots of time on individuals," he commented this morning. Forward passing practice was the feature of the afternoon. Five dif ferent pass formations were given the backs and ends and after an hour's schooling they were tried 'in scrimmage. In passing Stuber, quarter on la3t year's freshman team, showed up well. Tuttle, Simpson and Walsh worked well at receiving. With Coach Henry calling the plays a snappy signal drill was held Last night the squad assembled in Rothwell Gymnasium for "skull practice." With headgears for balls four teams walked through plays given them by the coaches. Considerable time was spent on the punters yesterday. Faurot, Richerson, and Underbill seem to be best and of these Faurot seems to have the edge. It is possible that Coglizer will receive instructions iu this department of the game. Wood all and Mathias at the flank positions were receivers of short passes and the two wingmen generally sifted thru the opposing line for large gains. Mailer circled arouna ngnt end at one time aided by interfer ence to run the distance of the field. Carrol had the ball snapped to Hen dricks most of the time, who either passed it or hit the line or circled around an end. Bristow and Lamb put everything they had into the punting game Fri day.
