New Slogan Will Be
"Welcome Illinois"
"Welcome Illinois" is the slogan
that will permeate the campus this
week. Armbands of scarlet and
cream with the words "Welcome
Illinois" on them are being sold by
the Corncobs, the Tassels and the
Varsity Cleaners. "Welcome Illin
ois" windshield stickers will be dis
tributed to students Monday. A
rally will be held Friday evening to
stimulate spirit for the game.
Wendell Berge, president of the
Innocents, said, "We urge every stu
dent to take up the 'Welcome Illin
ois' spirit and pass it along. We want
to give Illinois a more rousing wel
come than Nebraska has ever given
to any team, and to carry it over af
ter the game whether we win or
lose."
