E. Condra, director of the division of conserva tion and survey, at the Missouri River Development Congress in Kan sas City, April 11 and 12. Dr. Con dra will tell some of the problems in conservation encountered in Ne braska and will discuss the river in relation to rainfall, soil areas and structural conditions. Called primarily for the purpose of investigating navagation pos sibilities on the Missouri river, thus bringing farm products of the states drained by the river closer to mar ket, the congress will consider means to protect farm lands from the in roads of the river. It is hoped to establish cooperation with the govern ment to enable federal work on the Missouri similar to that on the Ohio and other rivers. Replies have come to the division of conservation and survey from many states. South American coun tries, France, Mexico and the Ha waiian Islands, expressing approval of the talks on various phases of Ne braska, broadcast once a month from the powerful radio station at Hast ings. Dr. Condra of the division will conclude his description of the sand-hill country next Thursday eve ning and will take up the Pine Ridge Country its rosouces, topography and utility.
