Methodists Invited
to National Meet
The University of Nebraska has
been asked to participate in a na
tional Methodist convention in April
at Louisville, Ky., where the questions
of uniting all Protestatism and
where youth can Berve in the church
of today will be discussed.
The National Conference of Metlv
odist students has sent out a letter
unrinir that every university in the
United States be represented at this
conference. Nebraska is anted to
select two delegates , to be chosen by
the Methodist group.
The Methodists will decide wheth
er the north and south branches of
their church should be united. There
will be prominent Readers from each
division.
At the conference both experts
and students will present the various
fields of the church, showing what
they offer in the way of service
what they are doing to meet the de
mands made upon them and what the
possibilities are. This conference
has been called by students and is
under student leadership.
Shepardson Is Guest
of Honor Saturday

Engberg, and other deans of the
pollpe-es of the University are to
be eroests of a luncheon Saturday in
honor of Francis W. Shepardson of
Chicago, given by the local chapter
of Beta Theta Pi. Mr. Shepardson
was one of the organizers of the na
tional interfraternity council. He is
national vice president of Phi Beta
Kappa and national president of Beta
Theta Pi.
Herbert Schmidt of the faculty of
the University School of Music will
give a recital Saturday, March 15, in
the school corridors. All students are
invited.

a reception this afternoon at the gov
ernors mansion, given by the Lincoln
Council of Parent-Teachers' associa
tion, the Lincoln Princ:pals club and
the Lincoln Teachers' association.
During the afternoon, a musical
program was given by a trio, with
Miss Helen Panner, flutist, Miss
Gladys Ellis, violinist, and Miss Nina
Butler, pianist.
