His loss will be felt keenly, especially since the Kansas Aggie meet is only two weeks off. Coach Frank Adkins had planned on winning the relay event with Hunton in the' lineup. Dan Reed will probably be put on the relay team in place of Hunton, and Kirk bride in the sprints. Nebraska is the strongest team in the Valley in the breaststroke sw'm in which Norman Plate is carrying all before him. Plate won a first place in the meet at, Omaha and came out second at St. Louis against Wash ington. He has been making good time in practice swims. He will prob ably win a first place for Nebraska in the Kansas Aggie meet. Jack Goebing, captain of the team last year, is running mate for Plate in the breaststroke swim, and will come out a close second in the meets. The Kansas Aggie meet at Man hattan on March 14 will probably be the last dual meet of the season for the swimming team. The season will be wound up with the Missouri Val ley meet at St. Louis on March 22 and 23. Uoo-.ior. and nlayed second base pn the Lincoln club of the state league last year. Kline has had experience coaching basebell at the University of Florida, Nebraska Wesleyan. He has brought the basketball squad up from the second division standing of last year to third place in the Valley conference this year. Baseball practice will start in earn est with the close of the cage sea son. Some of the men have been working out in the gymnasium for several weeks under direction of Capt. Harland Peterson, and outdoor practice will commence as soon as possible. Grounds near the stadium will probably be fixed for practice as soon as the weather permit3. A trip south during Easter vaca tion is being planned by the ath letic office. It will cover three or four gams, probably Kansas, Okla homa, Kansas Agg' and Missouri. No contracts have been made yet. TO NAME BASEBALL COACH NEXT WEEK Scott Dye and W. G. Kline Are Applicants Under Consideration. A coach for the baseball team will be appointed by the athletic board as soon as the basketball season is over, John Selleck, faculty member in charge of student activities said yesterday. The board has two ap plications under consideration, one from Scot Dye, who coached the nine last year, and the other from W. G. Kline, basketball coach. The board will probably make the selection next week.
