    HUSKERS LOST TO
OKLAHOMA 32-20
(Continued from Pg: 1)
Kansas foul, putting Nebraska in the
lead. With two minutes to play Ne
braska decided to hold the ball, but
the back-court tactics failed when
Ackerman broke through, captured
the ball, and made a sensational
throw for the winning basket.
Captain Hlack of the Kansas quin
tet was the hijfh-score man, piling up
11 points with five field poals and
a free throw. Ackerman folowed in
the scoring column with two field
goals. '
Usher was the star of the Husker
squad, getting three field goals, and
playing a fast offensive game. Good
son also made six points, two of them
by the free throw mothod.
The Kansas gymnasium was
packed an hour before the game, pre
dictions of a hotly-fought contest be
irg realized. The Friday contest was
the thirtieth consecutive victory of
the Kansas squad.

Reduce Gat Price.
Metropolitan gas-users may not
always complain of high prices if the
possibilities of this research are ex
hausted. The manufacture of city
gas was beyond the scope of those
studies as originally outlined; but
it was found that gas made with oxy
gen substituted for air would have
a third larger heat-content per cubic
inot and could be supplied at a lower
cost. Gas generally requires the
addition of oil to bring its heating
v&lue up to illumination standards,
but in the opinion of the committee,
this would not be necessary to gas
made "the oxygen way." ,
Since the cost of metal enters into
every phase of construction, the
work in which rtofessor DeBaufre
has had a part should bring general
benefit in price reduction. Experi
ments are in process to determine
the commercial feasibility of what is
determined to be theoretically sound.
