A glance backwards at the scores
of Nebraska football teams since
1890 when the first squad of Corn
huskers took the field shows that
the Nebraskans have piled up 5,084
points to the opponents 1,475.
When Nebraska and Illinois get to
gether at Urbana October 6, for
the opening football conflict of the
season, it will be the fourth game
in the history of the two universities.
And Illinois has yet to win from the
Huskers.
Iowa university was defeated thir
teen out of eighteen times by Ne
braska, the other games resulting in
three ties and two wins for Iowa.
Missouri has been defeated by Ne
braska in all of the thirteen clashes
in which the teams were engaged.
With Minnesota, Nebraska has
met the most defeats of any teams
played. Minnesota has emerged vic
tor in ten out of fourteen contests,
Nebraska winning in 1002 and 1913.
The other two games were tied.
Ever since the days when Iowa,
Kansas and Missouri universities
were in what was known as a league,
from '92 to '96, Kansas has always
been ready to sacrifice more to de
feat the Cornhuskers than to twist
