The first announcement, made a few days ago, that "The Bat", the great mystery play by Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood, would be presented by Wagenhals and Kemper at the Orpheam theatre on Saturday, Sept. 29th, matinee and night, was insufficient to creat an in stant demand for seats In the theatre on that particular day. DEAN GRUBB ATTENDS ANNUAL CONVENTION Three Member of Nebraska Faculty Give Clinic at Dental Meeting. Acting Dean Grubb of the College of Dentistry attended the annual convention of the American Dental Association at Cleveland. Eight thousand members of the Dental pro fession, including representatives from several foreign countries who lent an international aspect to the assemblage, were in attendance. Three members of the Nebraska faculty, Dean Grubb, Dr. M. E. Vance and Dr. B. L. Hooper gave clinics in their particular field. Dr. Hooper presented the results of in vestigation in impression-taking, which was well received by the con vention. Students in the College of Dentistry wil receive Instruction in this original research. Other Dental faculty members present were Dr. A. H. Schmidt, Dr. B. C. Wildman and Dr. C. E. Brown. . A. conference held at Estes Park this year from June 9 to 19. Stu dents from six states included in the Rocky mountain regional division made up the ten day conclave. William G. Altstadt president of the local organization, Lawrence Dunham, George Bowers, Leslie Cad wallader, Donald McGregor, Adrian Edgar, Carl B. Metzgar, Henry Thomas, Frank Thomas, Oeorge Claywatter and W. Paul McCaffree, general secretary of the local Y. M. C. A., represented Nebraska. Mr. Altstadt was elected one of the two delegates to a national coun cil composed of sixteen from the en tire country. The conference program included a number cf internationally known Y. M. C. A. leaders and others of prominence. Raymond Robbins of Chicago, Dr. A. Herbert Grey of Glassgow Scotland, A. J. "The Passing Show of 1922" is the tenth of the "Passing! Shows", the first having been pro-t duced at the Winter Garden on July 22, 1922. It is the thirty-fourth pro duction made at the Winter Garden since it opened it doors on March 20th, 1911. The Messrs. Shubert j determined to" commemorate the j "Passing Shows" by making the tenth of the series more elaborate' than even the usually elaborate pro ductions of this annual series. With this end in view, J. J. Shubert under whose personal direction the "Pas sing Show is produced, mide a trip to Europe la stspring and brought back with him many novelties. This tenth or anniversary "Passing Show," like many predecessors has : bock sad lyrics by Harold Atteridge, the music is by Sigmund Romberg and Alfred Goodman. J. C. Huff man staged the production and Allan K. Foster out on the musical num bers and ballets. The entire produc tion was staged under the personal direction of Mr. J. J.
