Farmers' Fair contained with the pro
gram of the day. a list of all the
committees working on the plans, a
list of all the prizes to be given the
cast of characters for the Pageant,
a resume of the side-shows, and par
ticulars as to where on the campus
there would be refreshments. "Yel
low Dog" and the Doughnut Stand
were perhaps the most popular ones
of the list. The last two pages of
the Book were given over to cracks
on the seniors. "Mobb" Turner was
in charge of the Book.
HONOR SOCIETIES OF THE COL
LEGE OF AGRICULTURE
Nebraska's Agricultural College
supports three honorary societies to
reward its worthy students. These
are Alpha Zeta, Omicron Nu, and
Gamma Sigma Delta. The two for
irer have active chapters of under
graduate students, while election to
the latter comes in the second se
mester of the senior year.
Alpha Zeta is the men's profes
sional agricultural fraternity and to
which election is considered one of
the highest honors of the College.
Election is based upon scholarship,
leadership, interest in agriculture and
school activities, and personality. The
members are selected from the jun
ors and seniors who class In the
upper two-fifths in grades. Alpha
Zeta is quite prominent in school ac
tivities. At present there are thirty
three chapters.
Omicron Nu is the women's honor
society corresponding to Alpha Zeta.
At a convocation each semester stu
dents elected to membership are an
nounced. Members are selected for
scholarship, personality, leadership,
and interest in Home Economics.
Omicron Nu and Alpha Zeta work
i nconjunction in Agricultural College
activities.
Oamnia Sign.' a Delta is a national
fraternity which corresponds"1 to Phi
Beta Kappa and selects its members
primarily for scholarship. Because of
the mathematics and language re
quirements for Phi Beta Kappa very
few Ag men ever qualify. To reward
the worthy students Gamma Sigma
Delta was organized.
Several of the women students are
elected to Phi Beta Kappa each year
and occasionally some of the men.
Many of the men are elected to
Sigma Xi, the honorary scientific fraternity.
Dr. Tracy A. Fierce, of the depart
ment of Mathematics, has accepted an
vitation to teach in the University of
California summer session.
