In n practice game at Rock Island
field Thursday afternoon, the Fresh
man baseball team outclassed the
Lincoln High diamond artists with a
score of 8 to 2.
The Cornliusker freshmen nine
had its opponents outclassed from
tho beginning of the contest. Lang,
on the mound for the Freshman, al
lowed only five hits, while Lewis o
the Links allowed several times that
amount.
Captain "Jug" Brown of the Lin
coin high team made the longest hit
of the game. His was a three bagger
on which he allowed a man on base
to reach home and later scored hir
self. .
The Freshman lineup was: P. Lanr
pitch; E. Lang, catch; Griffith, first
hase; Morgan, second base; Extrom
third base; Zavodny, right field; Hay.
center field; Andre, right field; V:
ley, shortstop. During the latter
part of the game- Sheldon, Pickett
and Randolph were substituted in
the outfield.
