Wrestling fans may ee the great
est mat program ever scheduled at Ne
braska judging from Cyclones' record
when the Scarlet and Cream wairiors
ran up against the team from Ames
Saturday night at 7:30 in the Armory.
The Cornhusker squad has been work
ing toward this contest snce last se
mester. The Cyclones bring a team
which has not lost a match either last
year or this year.
Tin- Iowa Farmers have met and
conquered some of the representative
teams in llie east, and they are prob
ably the best bunch of intercollegiate
gi applers in the country. The Nebras
ka squad has come nearer than any
other team to beating the Cyclones.
The score made by Ames last year in
a match with the Cornhuskers was
their lowest.
The matches will be as follows.
11. "vpound class - Probst, Nebraska v.
Pickerson, Ames.
12. " -pound class - Kellogg, Nebraska
v. 1. ticks, Ames.
135-pound class Isaacson, Nebriska
v. liowon () Anis.
115-pound class Pickwell, Nebraska
v. Shepherd, Ames.
15S-pound class- Reed, Nebraska v.
(unknown), Ames.
175-pound class Troutman, Nebras
ka v. Smith, Ames.
Heavyweight class Renner, Nebras
ka v. Greer, Ames.
Dickerson. the 115-pound man, was
captain of the Ames team last year,
but did not compete because of a
sprained ankle. This is his third year
of actual wrestling. Probst, the Ne
braska man w ho will meet him is one
of the cleverest men of his weight.
l.oucks, 125 pounds, tied with Vana
of Iowa for the Western Inter-collegi-ate
championship last year. Kellogg
is a new man in Nebraska's ranks.
nowen of Ames beat Isaacson last
year in a dual meet with Nebraska.
Isaacson has improved in both strength
and speed since last year. This prom
ises to be a close match. Uowen is
Western Inter-collegiate champion, and
has only been beaten twice; once by
a decision and once by a fall.
Shepherd is another of the third
year men from Iowa. He will -wrestle
Pickwell.
The 158-pounder from Ames is a
new man and an unknown quantity.
At a recent meet with Northwestern,
he triumphed over Hathaway, who
beat Reed in a match with Nebraska(
Smith of Ames will meet Captain
Troutman, who was Western Inter-col-
& mi
- . -HALTS
DICKERSON'
The Ames grappler in the 115 pound
class. He was captain of the team
list year, but did not compete be
cause of a sprained ankle.

legiate champion last year. Smith,
who has wrestled half of a year, is a
cousin of Troutman, so the match is a
family affair.
Greer, the Cyclon heavy, is a pow
erful powerfully-built man who has an
advantage of ten or fifteen pounds
over Renner. He is a new man, how
ever, and probably has not the speed
and strength of the Cornhusker man.
Nebraska's chances, on paper, are
better in the heavy matches, but no
matches are being conceded to the
Farmers. The Cyclones swalloped
Northwestern to the tune of 29 to 0.
Nebraska beat the same school IB to 6.
K. C. Schroeder, of the University
of Iowa, will referee mo matches
which will be twelve minutes long.
Five points will be given to the side
winning by a fall, thrfe points to the
side getting a decision. In order to
get a decision, a man must have an
advantage of at least one minute over
his opponent. If the advantage Is less
than this, the match goes to two extra
periods of three minutes each. In order
to eet a derision, the man must have
an advantage of thirty seconds at the
end of one of the bouts.
The Cvelone aggregation will prob-
nbly get into Lincoln Saturday morn
ing, and the men will weigh in at
3:30 o'clock.
