Fifteen minutes of the first half
had elapsed before the Cornhuskers
secured their first points on a long
shot by Carman. With but three min
utes of the first half to go. Conch
Frank sent In his sophomore team.
Cozier, forward, immediately sprang
Into the limelight by shooting two
goals for Nebraska In rapid succes
sion. The half ended 18 to 6 in favor
of Kansas.
Nebraska came back strong in the
second halt and scored 14 points to
the Jayhawkers 12. Usher, Husker
forward was Injured In tho second
period and Warren went back Into
tho game. With this exception, Coach
Frank's second team finished the
game. Cozlor, Husker forward, shot
three more baskets in tho Bccond
half. Coxier was the star of the game,
scoring U of Nebraska's 20 points.
Captain Warren scored two gonls and
ono foul toss, whllo Tipton and On
men collected one basket apiece.
The Kansas team, Which tied for
tho valley championship last year,
played an ercellent game, of which
their five-man defense was the tea
tur. Bowman, Black and Ackerman
divided scoring honors for the Jay
hawkers, each shooting three field
goals, while Captain Endacott's close
guarding was worthy of note.
It's an odd year that has no holi
day cheer.

Walter Camp's All-American foot

man's trying to pick an all-star team
Tor the entire country is Bhown. The
outstanding criticism of Camp's for
mer teams, that of giving preference
to Eastern players, can be well ap
plied to his selections this time.
Camp has chosen seven eastern play
ers, three mid-western players, anl
one player from the const to make
up his mythical all star team.
"Why was not Weller pluced on
one of Camp's teams?" is the ques
tion that all Nebraska students, and
those who have seen the big Husker
tackle in action are making. Bly
"Bub" Weller, 22S pound giant tackle
of the Husker eleven, whose playing
was a feature of every game this
year, was chosen by Walter Eckersall,
who had seen Weller in action, for his
first All-American team. But Camp
gives him a bare honorable mention.
Peterson, stellar Nebraska center,
was given the center position on
Camp's third team. The selection
was hailed with delight by Husker
fans.
Camp placed five Huskers on his
list for honorable mention. "Chick"
Hartley, Husker captain and versa
tile fulback; Schoeppel, Weller Welch
(Wenke), and Berquist were all given
honorable mention by Camp.
