But what man. upon arriving honr does not make a raid on the kitchen or the pantry, if he is fortunate enough to live in a house which contains this old-fashioned adjunct to a kitchen, and spread a slice of mother's bread with jell made by the same hands, and thoroughly enjoy it? The dignity and pretensions of col lege drop away when i nc gets homo and be unconsciously falls into the way of a small boy asain. When hun gry. Inst or. d cf e-atinc some conglom erate sundae or cinnamon toast and tea, he spreads for himself and eats a slice of bread an' jell. Bread and jell. What memories the mention of that homely delicacy brings! Coming in breathless after a game of hide-r.nd seek and watch ing mother spread a huge slice of bread with grape Jell. A hot after noon beneath the shade of trees in the front yard lying on one's back watching the white clouds o-erhead and slowly devouring an enormous piece of bread and crabapple jell. And many others all standing out clearly as if etched indelibly on your memory. Chi Celta Phi.
