freshman game en California field
last Saturday as to the progress of
the California-Washington State game
in Porltand.
Metwcen halves, a magovox was
utalized to transmit to the rooters th3
scores received over the wire. A
large scoeboard at tiie end of the
fhld gave the results in more particu
lar detail.

in the matter of getting seat, tickets
for the California-Stanford big gam
at Palo Alto, November IS. Thy
wore allowed to turn in their appli
cations (or four tickets plus their
own rooters ticket last a-eek.
The preferences thus checked will
be satisfied first and the remaining
part of California"s allotment of
seats will ge on sale to others on
November 8.

est Among Members of
Fifteen runners on the cross-country
s iuad have already succeeded In wln-
l'lng numerals this year. The winning
of a numeral is a difficult task, which
involves some hard running. The pract
ice of awarding numerals in cross
country is just being started, and is
proving very successful in stimulating
l'.'gh interest uniong the members of
the squad. This honor can also be won
by freshmen.
The following is a list of those who
have already won numerals:
Bowman, Slemmon, Weir. Hyde.
Iiaitman, Neilson. Davidson. Coats,
Fisher, Cook, Alexander, Sominers,
v heakley, Rogers, Gardiner.
SOPHOMORE CO-EDS EDFEAT
JUNIORS AND WIN TOURNEY
The sophomore class won the girls'
hiterelass soccer tournament last night
when they defeated the juniors liy a
score of 2-1. Coleta Aitken scored a
goal for the juniors the first quarter
of the game. The sophomores played
hard but were unable to score until
during the last three minutes of play.
Lois Shepherd made the two scores
for the second year class.
Irene Springer refereed the game.
Meach Miller was score keeper and
Irma Johnson and Eleanor Snell were
I'nesnien. A mixed alumni and all-stars
will play the juniors today at noon.
