It is the intention of the club to effect some- kind of a re-organization and make of the club a live organization. The question of taking part in 'he Golden Rod Highway booster trip to Denver was discussed and arrange ments were made to serve luncheon to the boosters when in that city on Wednesday of this week. The secretary of the Chappell Com mercial Club has been co-operating with the postmistress of that place in an effort to secure an improvement in the parcel post service. As a result, a letter was received from the chief clerk at Omaha stating that satisfac tory arrangements would be made in caring for this service. THE CORNHUSKER STAFF The Editor-in-chief of the 1922 Cornhusker has evolved a plan for the selection of students to work on his book that is most commendable. Instead of the "political spoils sys tem" that has reigned in the past, this year merit, and merit alone will be the deciding factor. Here's the idea. Each person who wants to work on the staff will be given an application. This application calls for the previous experience in a journa'.istict way that this person has had. There is another space for the organizations to which the ap- The Merchants Bureau of the Falls City Chamber of Commerce at its last meeting emphasized the necessity of closer co-operation between the mer chants. The co-operative sales plan was discussed and the bureau decided to continue the sales plan idea, thirty eight merchants announcing their in tention of taking part in the next sale. The Falls City Chamber of Commerce has been busy the past few weeks making preparations for the live stock show and the float parade held in that city ihis week. The Chamber of Com merce of Humboldt, Shubert and Hiawatha were each asked to select a representative from their organiza tions to act as judges for the float parade which occurred on Friday of this week.
