TODAY AND WEDNESDAY
Senior Girls May Vote for Favorite at
Booth in Lobby of
Library.
Annual election of May Queen will
be held today and Wednesday under
the auspices of the Black Masque
chapter of Mortarboard. The booth
will be located in the lobby of the
library and all senior girls will be
given an opportunity to vote between
the hours of 9 and 5 on these two
days.
The Black Masques hold an election
each spring for the Queen who ii
crowned on Ivy Day. The crowning ot
the queen and all the accompanying
exercises will be held thi syear on
Wednesday, May IS. The May Queen

The girl who receives the next high
est number of votes in the election
Tuesday an Wednesday will be tho
queen's attendant, an honor which is
considered in Nebraska tradition to
be second only to the position of
May Queen itself. Ivy Day, which is
one of the most cherished traditions
on the campus, will be a holiday this
;ear as has been the custom in other
years. The crowning of the May
Queen followed by the Ivy Day oratici
takes place in the morning.
The masquing of the Black Masques
and of the tapping of the Innocents,
senior women's and men's organiza
tions respectively, follow In the after
noon. These impressive ceremonies
are not held on the campus but ara
usually held on the picnic grounds an1
are open to the whole school.
It Is expected that almost every girl
in the graduating class will cast a
vote in this election. In order no ono
will be deprived of a vote on account
of conflicting classes on Tuesday the
polls will remain open for two con
secutive days. Members of Black
Masque will be in charge of the elec
tion booth both days.
