UNIVERSITY NIGHT TICKETS.
The practice of selling University
Night tickets at a profit still continues
on the campus.' A few students are
known to have bought as many as
sixty, and in some cases they have
disposed of these for fifty cents or
more to other students who were
anxious for such tickets, when their
selling price was set at thirty-five
cents. This practice of campus rob
beiy is depriving the school of need
ful spirit and is defeating the purpose
Tor which spirit is" displayed.
Authorities at this University wish
to announce that any students who
are caught profiteerng in University
Night stocks, will be given permanent
leave of absence or other drastic
steps will be taken.

NO SMOKING, PLEASE.
The resolutions passed by the Presi
dents' Club, prohibiting smoking in
Ellen Smith Hall, Is laudable because
this building Is not Insured by the
state, which acts as an insurance
company of Its own and does not
carry Insurance on any state building.
The premiums on the great amount
of state property would amount to
more than the loss of one of those
buildnlgs by fire. Thus, the state
does not prevent against loss by fire.
Because of this fact, students
ehould take as many precautions
against fire as possible. A recent fire
In Ellen Smith Hall might have
proved disastrous. This building con
tains many pieces of valuable furni
ture, brie a brae, paintings and rugs.
