T H si DAILY N E B R A 8 K A N HADLEY LEADS SENIOR CLASS (Continued from page one.) Judges Announced. The judges for the election are the following: Trof. Roy Cochran, chair man; Dean C. C. Engberg, Prof. A. It. Congdon.'Prof. R. D. Kilborn, Earl W. Lantz and James D. Sourber Kach candidate -will be allowed to have a challenger present at the polls during the voting. The challenger must bo from the same class as t he candidate and must have a written permit from the Registrar to act in this capacity. The candidates will also be allowed a representative who may be present at the counting of the votes Tuesday evening after the polls close. The withdrawal of several candi dates at the last moment has added a spice to the election so far, accord ing to those who have been watching developments in University political circles for many weeks. The interest in these elections, which is always kern at the beginning of the second semester, seems to be at a feverish heat this year, judging by pre-election occurrences. A number of candidates included in their campaign a visit to all fruli-i nily. sorority and rooming houses with a complete jazz orches tra. Elizabeth Schlichting, who had planned to withdraw from the race for Publications Board on the Sopho more ballot, waited until too late and was forced to stay in the race. She announces, however, that she does not wish to be considered as still in the running. Senior Ballot. Richard ITadley, the new Senior president, is a member of Thi Gamma Delta, Iron Sphinx, Vikings, Sigma Delta Chi and Kosmet Klub. lie has spent much time on the editorial staff of the Awgwan. In the race for Ivy Day orator, three candidates have announced their desire to present the annual speech: Charles S. Reed of Arnold is a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Phi, and is a Senior in the Law Col lege. He is a member of the Ne braska House of Representatives at this session and has been active in discussions at the capltol. He has held the position of post commander of the University American Legion. Lawrence I. Shaw of Osceola, an other candidate, is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Thi Delta Phi. Kosmet Klub, and is a Senior in the College of Law. He has played on the Ilusker Varsity football team, in which sport ho was awarded his "N." Shaw was also a member of Iron Sphinx and Vikings, and was presi dent of the Sophomore class. Laurence E. Slater of Lincoln is also a Law student, a member of Delta Chi and Thi Alpha Tail. Slater was president of the Student Council last year and has also been president of the Y. M. C. A. cabinet. Junior Ballot. Joy r. Guilford of Aurora, oandi late for Junior president, is a mem ber of Bushnell Guild and Vikings, lie has worked on the Awgwan and this year has been active in Com- mitteo of Two Hundred work. Guil ford had charge of an exhibit at the ledieation of Social Science Hall in January. Roy Wythers of Lincoln, the other candidate for Junior president, is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Iron Sphinx, Vikings and this year was the Junior mrmber of the Student Publi cations Board. Last year YVythers was business manager of the Daily Xebraskan. He is a Junior in the College of Business Administration. Mary Sheldon of Greenville, Miss.. candidate for Senior member of the Publication Board from the Junior class of this year, is a member of Alpha Xi Delta, Silver Serpent and XI Delta. She has been exchange editor of the Daily Nebraskan for two semesters and has served in executive capacities on many University party committees and class committees. She Is a member of the University Night committee. Robert Van Telt of Stockville, the Mber candidate for this position, is a member of Silver Lynx, Phi Alpha Tun. Thl Delta Thi, chairman of the University Night committee, a mem ber of the V. M. C. A. cabinet and last year was a member of the ISe- brnska debating team. Clarence Ross of David City, in the neo for editor-in-chief of the Corn busker, is a member of Delta Tau Delta, Phi Delta rhi, Sigma Delta Chi. Iron Sphinx and Vikings. He is Junior managing editor of the Cornhusker, member of the Dramatic Club, chairman of the membership committee of the Press Club, find was organization editor of the 1020 Cornhusker and one of the freshman minors of the 101!) annual. Ward Randall of Wayne, the oppo nent of Ross in the race for editor of the annual, is a member of Beta Thptn Pi. Thl Delta Phi. a Junior in the College of Law and chairman of the committee for tho publication of the new Cornhusker song-book. He was president of the Freshman Law class last year. He has been on the editorial staff of the Awgwan this year and is now assistant editorial writer of the Daily Nebraskan. He !s a member of a Press Club commit tee. At the time of the selection of the Cornhusker staff, he was chosen In charge of the student activities section. Later, after the resignation of LeRoss Hammond as Senior man aging editor of the annual, Randall was assigned to certain of Ham mond's duties. Sophomore Ballot. In the race for Sophomore presi dent, rroebstring of Omaha is a mem ber of Alpha Gamma Rho, Iron Sphinx and Green Goblins. He is an officer of the "Ag" Club and holds a com mission in the Nebraska R. O. T. C. Harlan V. Boyer of York, his oppo nent, is a member of rhi Kappa Tsl, Iron Sphinx, Kosmet Klub, Thl Alpha Tau, and Is registered in tho Arts College. He is assistant editorial writer of tho Daily Nebraskan and on a Press Club committee. Jack Austin, candidate for member of the Publications Board, is a mem ber of Alpha Sigma Phi, Iron Sphinx, Press Club and Commercial Club. He is a Sophomore in the College of Business Administration. He is man aging editor of the Daily Nebraskan, and member of the University Song Book committee. Loren Daugherty, Austin's opponent, is a member of Kappa Delta Phi' and is registered in the Engineering College. He is a Blue Print reporter and a member of American Associa tion of Engineers. His home is at Long Pine. He is chairman or u,fl Engineering Hop committee, a mem ber of smoker committee and ;n. gineer's Week committee. Adolph Wenke of Pender, the other candidate for this position, is a mrm ber of Sigma Thl Epsilon, Iron Sphinx and was a Green Goblin Inst year. Me was a member of the Varsity font ball team this year and won his "" in that sport. He is connected wiih the business staff of the Daily NV-Vaskan.
