NEBRASKA RE-ENTERS CONFERENCE.
At a meeting of the presidents and chancellors of the colleges
and universities represented in the Missouri Valley Conference. Ne
braska was unanimously voted hack into membership. Because of
the desire to stage several of the season's games on tin- Omaha field,
the Cornhuskers withdrew in Ifflfl. This year the only conference
games played wen with Kansas and Missouri and according to the
rule imposed by the Missouri Valley meeting in lieeember. the
schedule for net year would have to lie entirely new.
It is possible that the Pennsylvania and Rutgers games may have
to he cancelled because of conflict with conference schedules an I
because of th" rule that games must be played on the home hi id of
one of the conic-ting teams. This will be a great disappoin'mcnt to
football enthusiasts bo'li here and in the East, but 1he exper.se of
bringing those teams clear to Lincoln, is practically prohibitive. The
decision on this matter is not final and it is hoped that the Ncb-ak:i
men may yi t tun t both teams on the gridiron.
Hut the ia insia'enient back into ihe conference seems really mor"
advisable than making an individual record. While Nebraska with a
v. inning team might 1" a' several or till of the Kaso rn teams played,
we would have no particular recognition other than by comparison
with lias'' in eon:'' fence standards. Nebiaska in the Missouri Valley
( 'enfi n-nce has often ben champion and will o;i.n be again, an I
thai record will go down en file with an actual reputation. Ttiki n all
in all. the ger. i ral opinion is that 'ho move was a very wise and
favorable one.
