Kurtz, in his address Tuesday evening on "The Creation of Democ racy," declared that democracy can not be inherited, but must be created anew in each generation. Room 101 Registration for these should be made Thursday afternoon at the main desk in the Temple so that each applicant will have a oeitain time for his or her try-out and there will be the few est possible delays. Try-oirts may be single, double or in groups. There are parts for twenty nun and nine girls besides a large number for crowds and soldiers. Costumes for the caste will be ordered as soon as measurements can be taken for those successful in the parts. Understudies for the principal characters will be chosen to make certain of no delays at the final pro duction because of sickness or acci dent. It is possible the play may be staged a second time during com mencement week in the open air theatre that is planned at the Farm Campus. It was in existence for several years before its admittance to the frater nity. At this time it had nineteen active student members and two faculty members, Dr. E. H. Barbour and Prof. E. F. Schramm, both of the Geological Department. The present membership is eighty four, of which twenty-six are active members. Qualifications for member ship are based upon scholarship in geology, mining, metallurgy and allied subjects.
