DeYoung, '07, president of the National Importing and Trading Company, New oYrk, visited his sis ter, Ethel De DeYoung, '21, Saturday, on his way to the Pacific Coast. He was a member of the Intercollegiate Debate Seminary in 1907. Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Henkle of Kear ney will be guests for the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. E Henkle, 2144 Washington Street Mrs. Henkle, who was formerly Nell Youngers, will be entertained during her visit at the Delta Gamma house. Isabel Pearsall, '23, Mildred McSar land, '21, and Marian Jeffries, '22, re turned yesterday after spending the week-end at their homes in Omaha. Jeanette Gallegher, of Omaha, was a guest for the "Veek-end of her sister, Genevieve Gallehgher, '2i, at the Phi Beta Pi house. Mrs. Sred Ruwe, of Fremont, was a visitor for the latter part of last week at the Alpha Omicron Pi house. While the shiny black straw hat may be first hint of spring, the formal party is surely the conclusive fact. La ter may come the picnics, the wlnie roasts, but just now the formal season, is here, in Its revived glory that tae last two years of war, influenza, and coal famine, overshadowed. House dances are more or less in the back ground and the scene of the week end revelry is generally the Lincoln Hotel. Friday, March 5 Gamma Phi Beta held its annual banquet in the Garden room of the Lincoln Hotel. About eighty-live guests were present. In the center of the long table were the Greek let ters, Gamma Phi Beta, made with pink carnations, on a background of ferns. Brown and mode candles, tied wii.li tulle bows of the yame color, were placed at intervals around the table. Between the courses each of the ten freshmen sang a sorority song of their own composition. Mrs. Lon Deck er, acting as toastmistress called upon the following for toasts; Alumni, Mar ion Tyler; Seniors, eGnevleve Addle man; Juniors, Marguerite Smith; Sophomores, Marvel Trojan; Fresh men, Mary Mcintosh. Out-of-town al umni who were present were: Vioia Kleinke, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Vidgla- ia Bahr, Broken Bow; Nell Morrlssey, Chadron; Ruth Skoles, Onawa, Iowa; and Ruth Irvine, Arlington. tertained at the annual spring party About seventy-five couples were en of Pi Kappa Phi at the Commercial Club. White and gold, the fraternity colors, were the colors used in the dec orations, which were long streamers. White and yellow roses were given as favors. A special feature of the eve ning was a huge spot light that played varie-colored lights over the guests. Out-of-town guests and alumni were: Raymond Fonda, St. Edwards; Ralph Park, Adams; Lyle and James Cornish, Oconto; Reuben Clausben, McKinley Clark; Clyde Dempster, eBatrlce; Earl Ayers, Morris Bahr, Harold Hays, Ken neth Burk, Broken Bow; Charles Col lins, Joe Thomas, Deyo Crane, all of Omaha; E. B. Catterson, Lodgepole; Harold Gribble, Dakota City; Jay Fer guson, eWst Point; Raymond Lewis, Fairfield; Homer Storms, Auburn; Merlin Starkweather, Omaha; Don Byrne, St. Edwards; Clifford, Duer- feldt,. Gordon; Fred Regan, Paul SIncK, Grand Island; Leon Chamberlain, Cas per, Wyoming; and Russel Peterson, Aurora. Invited as chaperons were Professor and Mrs. E. H. Barbour, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eager. Sigma Alpha Epsilon entertained at an informal party in the large ball room of the Lincoln Hotel About sev enty guests were present. Tall floor lamps with shell pink shades, and large Dolly Varden baskets filled with early spring flowers were the decora tions. Ices, purple and gold, made in the shape of wooden shoes filled with whipped cream were served as re freshments. Professor and Mrs. H. B. Rise, and Mr. "and Mrs. Alfred Beck man acted as chaperons. The Freshmen of Pi Beta Phi were entertained at the home of Eleanor Talbot. WSne and blue, the frater nity colors, were used in the decora tions. Out-of-town guests were Miss Jeanette Gallagher, Omaha, Mies Lu cille Alderman, Omaha. Saturday, March 6 Sixty members of Pi Kappa Phi were entertained at the annual banquet in the Chinese room of the Lincoln Hotel.
