Acacia entertained at Its fifteenth
banquet Friday night in the garden
room of the Lincoln. Gold and biack,
the fraternity colors, were 'used in dec
oration. Ferns and carnations fo-med
the table decorations. James U. Har
vey of Omaha, acted as toastmaster.
The following men were called upon
to respond: Glen II. Foe, Mr. David
C. Hilton, Roy V. Pepperburg, Dr.
Edward Maxey, Jack Matthews, Hnd
William A. Robertson of Plattsmouth.
Fraternity and university songs were
sung at intervals during the evening.
Charles Wiles played a solo on the
xylophone accompanied by Thad Edds.
The following out-of-town alumni were
present: James B. Harvey, Omaha;
Varro Tyler, Nebraska City; Carl
Ganz, Alvo; William Robertson, Platts
Ganz, Alvo; William Robertson, Platts
mouth; Leslie Ellis, Wayne; Harold
Muffley, University Place; J. A. El
well, Springfield; James Kinslnger,
Alvo; James Ferris of the Missouri
chapter; and Don Elbert of the Kan
sas State Agricultural chapter.
Alpha XI Delta entertained seventy
five couples at a formal party held
at the Commercial Club rooms. Pink
roses and pink shaded lamps formed
the decorations. Chaperons were
Dean Amanda Heppner, Prof, and
Mrs. P. M. Buck, Mr. and Mrc John
Charles Wright and Mrs. Blakely. Out-of-town
guests were Alta Kibler, Kear
ney; Louise Sheard, Ft. Dodg, la.;
Jane Beechler, Omaha.
Ninety couples attended the formal
party of Delta Chi at the Lincoln Ho
tel. Buff and red, the fraternity col
ors, were used in decoration. Refresh
ments were served in the dining mom
where entertainment was furnished.
Chaperons were Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Hare, Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
Cattlikt of Omaha; ' Mr. and Mrs.
Italph Wilson, and Mrs. C. J. Clark of
Falrbury. Out-oltown guests were
Helen Sturges Helen Detweller,
Katharine Newbranch, Howard Doug
las, Roy Noble, J. Porter Allen, Louise
Watkins, and Milton Rogers of Oma
ha; Angelette Barnes, Holdrege;
Pearl Reynolds, Beatrice.
Alpha Sigma Phi entertained thirty,
five couples at a house dance on Sat
urday evening. Cardinal and gray,
the fratrnity colors, were used in
decoration. The chaperons were Pi of.
and Mrs. Dana Cole, and Mr. and Mrs.
E. H. Dunaway. Among the out-of-town
guests were Wilson Bryan, Oma
ha; Robert Cameron, Broken Bow.
Pi Phi Chi entertained informally at
a dancing party Saturday night '- the
chapter house. The chaperons were
Doctor Hyde and Doctor Latimer.
Among the out-of-town guests were
Cedrlc Nelson, Mike Nelson, Earle
Lelninger, Steven Brazda, and Linus
Crowley from the Omaha chapter;
Ralph McPherson of Wahoo.
Xi Pel Phi entertained at its apiing
party' at the Commercial Club. One
hundred couples wree pvrnent. The
fraternity colors, lavender and wMte,
were used in decoration. The color
scheme was carried out In the Ices
and cakes. Gay colored balloons,
caps, serpentine and confetti gave the
party a carnival air. One feature ot
the evening was a circle two-step.
The chaperons were Dean and Mrs.
Clyde Davis, Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Brown,
Dr. and Mrs. Earl Truell. Among
the out-of-town guests were Miss Eth
el Kibble, Omaha; Miss Delia Kolb,
Cambridge; Mr. F. R. Lutcavish, Cam
bridge; Dr. H. E. Harris, Nebraska
City; Dr. R. J. Hinman, Wymore; Dr.
R. C. Groom, Selden, Kansas; Dr. R.
R. Mlnnlck, Cambridge.
Delta Tau Delta entertained twen
ty couples at a house dance. Purple
and gold, the fraternity colors, were
used in decoration. The chaperons
were Mr. and Mrs: G. L. Waters, Mr.
and Mrs. H. J. Hall, and Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold North.
Gamma Phi Beta entertained twenty
couples at a valentine party at the
chapter house Saturday evening. The
chaperons were Mrs. Waugh and Mr.
and Mrs. Leon Decker. Miss Dorathea
Thomas of Tekamah was an out-of-town
guest.
