Hansen Wleland Knlss Beatrice, bit the dust before the Min den and Arlington fives. The Have lock contest was a thriller. The local boya aeUod the lead at the start, but were quickly stopped and the half ended even. Mlnden forged ahead at the beginning of the Becond period and deBplte the desperate rally of the Havelock tonsers romped away with the victory. 18 to 6. Poor goal shooting kidnapped the Beatrice goat. The first half ended 8 6 with Arlington on top, but the count was soon evened. The Beatrice for wards bombarded the board with shot after Bhot. but the bounces were against them and an accurate free throw by Kruger cinched the battle. The class B games yesterday morn ing revealed the strength of the Sut ton and Ravenna teams. These two aggregations take the floor at ten bells this morning and the class B championship will probably swing with the outcome, for these two teams look like the class of this league. Sut ton has the largest five but In Mingus and O. Smaha Ravenna possesses the best scoring forwards which this class has produced. Class B developed two close battles in the afternoon when Havelock and (Continued from Page One) nant so second place is all that is left to scrap for. The Cornhuskers win take second money only by cleaning up on Grinnell in both battles and vice versa, for it is reasonably certain that Missouri will drop at least one game to the Aggies. The sudden man ner in which Bailey and Schellenborg were knocked from the Nebraska line up has been a severe blow to the Cornhusker machine and whether or not it can be repaired on such short notice remains to be seen. The varsity games today at 3 o'clock in the Armory will give the visiting high school students an op portunity to see what Missouri Valley basketball is like. Coach Stewart has offered a special inducement to the high school players by cutting the ad mission from 50 to 25 cents for all participants in the big tournament. While men have been dying "over there," we, over here, have been cowards about things much less than death. We have pooled our opinions and let others decide for uh. Duo to shallowness, laziness, Indiffer ent thinking and cowardice, democra cy may die because Btudents do not care. Miss Burner concluded her discus sion with the thought that the stu dents can do all things if they will, and the plea that they fight, on the campus, as good a fight as our sol dlers fought "over there."
