DAILY DIARY
RHYMES
(With Apologies)
I catch each cliinglng fancy that lights
my lady's face
I note her wondrous beauty, her
daintiness and grace
Each day she stands before me, a vis
ion fair to see
I love her and I wonder if she
doesn't care for me.
My lady fair is single Indeed the
same as I
Yet somehow I am favored for I've
seen her laugh and cry;
And watched her frown, 'n 'everything,
no charms I ever miss
Her moods I know them all, in fact
I live a life of bliss.
Each day she comes to greet me with
a smile or. else pout
I watch her dainty movements from
then 'till she goes out;
And how 1 stand the parting is more
than I can tell
For I live for Just herself alone and
love her, oh, so well.
In all her dainty "frou frou's" within
our cozy nook
She yields to me her treasures, I
give her look for look;
She flirts with me and dares me, I pay
her back In kind
For when she's animated the more
she dares, I find.
Oh, kind friend, give me pity. I need
It every day
For while I love and worship there's"
no word that I can say;
Tho' riches lie around me I am forced
to let them pass
I'm dead and dumb, cold as a stone,
for I am her LOOKING GLASS.
