University of Illinois Puts 490 on Probation As a stimulus toward better work and as a first attack against loafers, the University of Illinois has adopted a system whereby students found delinquent- in seventy-five per cent of their work are either placed on probation or dropped from the reg ister entirely. By vote of the coun cil of administration, seventy-eight students have Just been dropped for failure to pass In eleven hours work. In addition to this, 490 were placed on probation but it is estimated that at least eighty per. cent of these will make good at the end of the present semester. Comus Club Comus club will meet at the Pi Kappa Phi house Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock. All men out. Delian Society The Delian Literary society will meet in banquet hall at the Temple Friday at 7:30 o'clock. A patriotic program will be given. Everybody welcome. Coach Otoupalik called a meeting of the men who represented Nebraska at Ames In the first meet of the year and conducted the elec tion. Dobson wrestles lu the 175-pound class, and although lacking In experi ence, makes up for it by his aggres siveness. He put up a good battle against his opponent in the meet with the farmers and gives promise of developing into a valuable point winner before the end of the season. Wrestling prospects are gradually picking up and it- is expected that Coach Otoupalik will put a much more formidable team in the field for the next meet than appeared in the first contest. Two professional wrestlers from the city have been frequent visitors at the wrestling class and have been giving valuable assistance in training the members of the team. The Show Number of AWfiWA SPRING FOOTBALL PRACTICE ALREADY STARTED AT IOWA Coach Kent, of the University of Iowa, has already started his foot ball squad for the next season in on spring practice. The practices are being held indoors till wanner weather. Reports from the Hawkeye camp indicate that the team will be stronger than last year.
