Later they will be sent to towns throughout the state for showing. The nurnose of the films are to acquaint citizens of Nebraska more thoroughly with the many forms of work going on in the department of war and help them to realize the difficulties which are met constantly. The idea of showing official war films originated with President Wil son, who wanted to put before the public, pictures that- would be cen sored by ordinary picture film companies. The films are put out by a special committee on war pub lication and are sanctioned by Pres ident Wilson. The films include pictures of the Mm 7 CO "The Kuppenheimer House in Lincoln" cantonment, officers training camps, munition factories, aeroplanes, sub marines, battleships, probably scenes from the front, and practically every phase of activities dealing with the war work. The first films to be shown will be "Messengers of Mercy," which show the first aid. hospital and Red Cross work back of the firing lines. "The Spirit of 1917." "Soldiers of the Sea." "United States Navy," "Submarines," "Gas and Fire," are some others. MERCEDES ORPHEUM TODAY This is one of the weeks when everybody appears to be satisfied with the show at the Orpheum. Mercedes keeps them all guessing with his musi cal mystery act. Santone gets the idea every time and follows up with t'he tune. It is a good act whichever way you take it." Rocky Mountain News. Adv.
