Schofield Judges Debate. Charles
E. Schofield. '17, Lincoln, was the
sole judge of the Schuyler-North
Bend debate In the high rchool de
bating league, at Schuyler, Wednes
day night, in which Schuyler was given
the decision.
Professor Chatburn Chairman.
Prof. George Chatburn, head of the
department of applied mechanics and
machine design, is chairman of the
building committee which had charge
of the erection of the Scottish Rite
cathedral being dedicated this week.
Art Students Make Posters. The
students in the department of Fine
Arts who are working for their d
gree of B. F. A., are making posters
for the play "Alice in Wonderland,"
to be given by the dramatic depart
ment. Saturday. February 24, in the
Temple theater.
Is To Teach Political Science
2. J. P. Senning, instructor in the
department of American history lias
taken charge of one section of Poli
tical science 2, a course on state gov
ernment formerly given by Prof. L
E. Aylesworth of the political science
department. The heavy enrollment in
the course has necessitated this di
vision of Prof. Aylosworth's class.

Nebraska Schools Returning Entry
Blanks for Annual Basketball
Tournament 130 Expected
The high school basketball tourna
ment is gradually taking on definite
shape as the time for the start draws
near. So far there have been ninety
nine of the entry blanks returned, ac
companied by the fee. With so many
actual entries at such an early date,
Manager Reed expects as many as
130 before the entries are closed.
An executive committee will be
chosen by Rutherford and Reed Mon
day. This committee will have
charge of the actual running of the
tournament and entertaining the
athletes.
As a means of identifying the high
school men, Manager Reed has had
printed two thousand cards, decorated
so as to resemble basketballs, with
places for the names and towns of
the wearers.
Classification of the teams will
start Tuesday. There will probably
be three classes this year, although
a large Increase in the number of en
trios will make four classes necessary.
KAISER'S PLAYMATES
According to the McGill Daily,
Poultney Bigelow, who was a play
mate of Kaiser Wilhelm in former
days, ia going to address students
there. Mr. Bigelow is an American,
but was reared in Berlin. He was
chosen as one of the few who were
playmates of the prince, who later be
came Wilhelm. He says that even In
those days the Kaiser enjoyed no
game that did not suggest war. and
took great delight in taking the part
of a blood-thirsty Indian. Ex.
