Thirty-two Per Cent of Hiflh School
Instructors Were U. of N.
Graduates
BROWNIE'S PRETTY BABIES
A very interesting study has been
made of the preparation and experi
ence of the teachers of academic sub
jects in the high schools of the state.
Last year there were 1.324 instruc
tors of high school work, in the 225
schools accredited for the University.
Of these 62 per cent were graduates
of four-year higher institutions, 32 per
cent being graduates of this Univer
sity. Twelve per cent were graduates
of a two-year course with etra study
and 22 per cent bad completed only!
the two-year course. Only 4 per cent
had less than two years of preparation.
Most of these teachers bad taught
several years. In fact, only a third of
all the Nebraska high school teachers
bad taught less than four years.
This is. a very encouraging report
and shows bow well trained the state
teachers are for their high school
work, in the opinion of University
professors.
