Several superintendents and super
visors of Iowa entered the Summer
Session this week.
Ralph Lahr. "17. left Tuesday for
Ogden, Utah, where he will work for
the Union 'Pacific railroad.
Professor Schramm, of the Geology
department, returned Monday from a
trip to the oil districts of Oklahoma.
Summer School students looking for
work to pay for their board, apply at
student activities office. Several jobs
are open.
Professor Nicholson, former head of
the Chemistry department, now a min
ing engineer, was a recent visitor on
the campus.
J. B. Burnett. '16. of the Geology
donnrtment. left Monday for Okla
J i noma, where he has a position with
an oil company.

August Nordgren. '14, has returned
to the university, where he will work
for his master's degree in the depart
ment of Chemistry.
Prof. Mary Fossler. of the organic
cliemistry department, leaves today
'for Los Angeles. Cal.. where she will
spend the summer with her mother.
Melvin H. Schlesinger, '16. has gone
to Lake Okiboji for the summer. He
will enter the University of Califor
nia in the fall to take up advanced
work in chemistry.
Ruth Grievish. ex-'15, has returned
to Lincoln after taking work at the
National Kindergarten college in
Chicago. Miss Grievish will teach in
the Lincoln schools next year.
The Cushman Motor Works is fur
nishing employment to several univer
sity students this summer. Among
them are Paul Smith. Chas. France,
John Kraus and W. J. Matousek.

Dr. Bliss Perry of Harvard, who
gave the commencement address here

The city school system opened the
summer session this week, and stu
dents in the study of supervision of
elementary schools will hive the priv
ilege of visiting and studying the
methods of this system during the
summer session.

Prof. C. L. Burlingham, of the Uni
ted States -dairy division of the De
partment of Agriculture, has been in
specting work of Professor Propps.

Nebraska. Mr. Barlingham was ex
tension agent here until last fall, but
was recently promoted to his present
position.
At a recent Student Union meeting,
the Cynic conducted a straw vote for
president of the United States. Only
1S3 votes were cast, divided as fol

offered by the University of Washing
