His service on the Nebraska faculty dates from 1907, when he was made inspector of accredited schools and assistant professor of Secondary Edu cation. In 190S, this department was fully organized as a part of the Teach ers' college. The Bureau on Recommendation of Teachers, of which Professor Reed has charge, was organized early in the history of the university, under Chancellor McLean. Professor Reed took charge of it in 1909. Professor Reed has had charge of the Extension department since 1911. He has also had general supervision of the summer session since 1909. His efficient work along all of these lines serves to make the university of vital use to thousands of Nebraskans. The Daily Cardinal, student news paper at the University of Wisconsin, will publish during summer session this year for the first time. It will appear twice a week and will be edit ed by three students on the regular staff. As more than 3,000 students are expected at summer session, the staff thinks that the college paper will have a good field.
