Beard, 1915, has been elected secretary of the Commercial club at Atlantic, la. Atlantic is a place with a population of between 5,000 and 6,000 and the club, which was organ ized several months. Mr. Beard will take charge February 1. He came to Nebraska from South Dakota. He is a member of Thi Alpha Tau, the public speaking organization and dur- ine his last semester was editor in chief of the Daily Nebraskan. He was also interested in dramatics while in the University and was a member of the cast for the "Sunken Bell," the Senior Dlay last year. For several months he was a member of the edi torial staff of the State Journal. Fol lowing a short visit in Lincoln, Mr. Beard will go to Atlantic to begin work.
