Bus! ness Interests in Lincoln, by means of a sum of money said to be a thousand dollars, fias prevailed upon the Ath letic Department to refrain from flood ing the field. It has long been the custom of the students 'of the Law College and a few scattered students of .the other colleges to spend their spare moments between classes at the Saratoga, learning some of the more 'compli cated shots of the game of pool. Now there is as light charge made by the owners of this establishment for the "use of the tables and cues, and the announcement of the fact that the Athletic Department expected flood the Athletic Field made them fear that their profits would be impaired because the students would spend their spare moments on the smooth surface of the Field instead of in the palace of cushions and cues. 8ENI0RS Second order of pins and rings for class of 1916 Leave your order and finger size HALLETT UNI JEWELER Est. 1871 1143 O Thus it was that, after a confer ence of the owners of the Saratoga, that it was decided to offer a bribe of one thousand dollars to the Ath letic Department on condition that they refrain from flooding the Field this winter, the owners feeling confi dent that they would be well repair for the investment. But Slough-foot Ike, the college de tective, uncovered and exposed the whole plot so that the bribe has been returned and the Athletic Department, in order to retain its good name, has agreed to flood the Field again as soon as possible. GET INDIVIDUAL PICTURES Corn h inker Management Hopes to Have the Annual Out on Time Please Co-operate If the Cornhusker Is to come out on time, the students must co-operate with the management. The last day for Individual pictures is February 5, for organization pictures, February 19. As most everyone knows it is al ways hard to get the Cornhusker out on time, because of the laxity of some of the students and organizations in getting their pictures taken. Since the Cornhusker management has seen fit o cut the eneravlnsr charge for Junior and Senior pictures It seems only fair that they should show their appreciation of the reduc tion by having their pictures taken on time. Promptness is Just as important with organization pictures as with the indi vidual. It must be remembered that it is difficult to get a time that is satisfactory for all concerned and In finitely more so when Mr. Townsend's time Is crowded as is always tho case for the last two weeks before the clos ing date, February 19.
