tlon from an evening spent at home
learning Browning's "The Ring and
the Book." The skating rink will be
open day and night, which may at
tract part of the University crowd
away from the moving picture shows
and cause them to become hostile to
the interests of the University, but
authorities agree that It is better for
the youths and maidens to spend the
evenings out of doors refreshing them
selves with good, honest health restor
ing exercise than to go home feeling
"rheumatlky" from a two hours' show
with a buzzy feeling before their eyes
and a feeling of pity in their hearts
for the poor hero who didn't marry the
girl after all.
The encouragement of skating at
Christmas time will also add a new
present to the possible list, and any
young lady who wishes to please her
gentleman friend might present him
with a brand new $15 pair of non
slidable, unfallable. Infallible skates,
guaranteed to fit any foot and last
until the first of February with the
right kind of care.
Ten cents admission will be charg
ed in order to make it self-supporting
and the pond will cover practically
all of the athletic field. The promot
ers of this project expect some fast
hockey teams to be developed soon
and If it pans out well, they make
skating the University sport all the
year round.
Seats .in the bleachers will cost
nothing above the regular price and
the management will not be responsi
ble for frozen ears and teeth. A full
report of the details of the new un
dertaking will be printed in full in a
few days.
