TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1915
It is really too bad that some of the recent high school gradu
ates can spend but half a semester with us. It is said, and no doubt
truthfully, that they alone are responsible for their short University
career.
Now that we know the mixers to be an assured success would
itiot be well to "get busy" on the proposition of providing more
spacious quarters! Let that be a part of the University extension
plan.
Now for the basket ball season. Who will make the team?
Again we turn our eyes to the "Monarch."
The Cornhusker staff will spend the Thanksgiving vacation at
work on YOUR book. What will you dot Let us suggest that you
arrange to have your picture taken or that you take some snap
shots so that the staff will not be obliged to run some "better than
nothing" material at the last minute. YOUR book depends very
much upon what YOU do for it.
The Texas Magazine refers to the "Human Fly" as "a person
possessing the quintessence of 'botheraciousness.' He who is so
annoying that when he is around, you long with all the ardor of
your soul for a human fly swatter. He is the man who, when you
are straining every nerve to grasp the point of a lecture, interrupts
by leaning confidentially in your direction and remarking on the
status of the weather, the series, the girls, or anything that may be
uppermost in his mind." Quite right.

GUY CHAMBERLAIN,
THE PEERLESS END
(Continued from page 1)
and smoothly down through the line,
sidestepping here, dodging there, pull
ing his foot out of this trap and knock-
in e that man over until with a clear
field before him, he runs smoothly
down the field and sinks down be
tween the goal posts. It looks easy,
because tl Is done with ease. He can
send a forward pass with perfect ac
curacy, as far out as the fastest end
can travel for it, and he can pick one
of the air as easily.
His defensive work is marvelous,
and more than once he has pulled
down a runner from behind when he
had eluded the Husker backfield. The
sensation in western football, and
there are few, if any, wing players in
America who can claim superiority
over him.
He has another term next year. He
will have to play without Dick Ruther
ford, the man who is largely respon
sible for making way for his long
runs, but he will have big "Tim"
Corey, and Shaw, and Otoupalik and
Riddell over on the other end to bal
ance things up, and he will make
the same old gains perhaps bigger
ones.
