In order to expedite the preparation
of plans for the new building to house
Political Science, Economics, History
and other departments of the Arts
College, I have asked Prof. Caldwell
to act as chairman of a committee con
sisting of all members of the faculty
In the departments concerned. As
chairman, Prof. Caldwell will confer
with his colleagues and communicate
their requirements to the architects.
This will not, of course, prevent any
one from writing diectly to Coolidge
& Hodgdon, Corn Exchange Bank
building, Chicago, or from taking up
any matters directly with my office in
case they see fit.

returned to school after working sev
eral months on the Forest Survey in
Colorado.
'"Laboratory Manual of Horticulture"
is the title of a book written by
George W. Hood, associate professor
of horticulture at the University. The
book contains illustrations of methods
equiment and apparatus.
The Alpha Xi Delta sorority held a
mothers tea Sunday afternoon at 5
o'clock at the chapter house. A pro
gram of readings was given by Miss
Louise Schavaland and Miss Elsie Pe
terson, followed by a group of sorority
songs. The Freshmen members serv
ed the tea.

first luncheon of the year Saturday at

A big send-off parade for the Husk
er team will be held Friday afternoon.
Participants will gather at the Ar
mory at 2:30 o'clock and will leave for
the Burlington station at 3 o'clock.
MIXER NOVEMBER 20
No Other Eevents Will Be Scheduled
for the Night of the Nebraska
Iowa Game
An elaborately planned Mixer will
be held the night of the Nebraska
Iowa game, November 20, for faculty,
students and alumni. No other, social
affairs will be scheduled for that
night.
The University band concert and
fireworks will entertain before the.
Armory is opened at 8 o'clock. The
tickets will be of two colors. One color
admits the holder to a vaudeville
show, while those holding the other
color dance. At 10 o'clock the people
in the two rooms will change.
A reception for the alunml will be
given In Art hall. There will also
be a moving picture shevr in enc of the
large rooms in the Law building.
