FIJI DAY, OCTOBER 1, 1915 THIS COLUMN Our "idea of a change in the editorial column may not appeal to vou but it is at least a change, and a change is, as a rule, welcomed. We will try not to burden you often with long editorials for we realize that few subscribers will take their valuable time to devour what they contain. AVe will, however, try to tell you what the opinion of The Daily Nebraskaii is, has been, and will be in regard to University questions. If you like our style tell others; it not, tell us. "There's nothing the matter with a Ford if it's a Rutherford." Quoted. AMONG THE BEST You have learned, of course, that the Nebraska football team was one of the five best in the United States last year. Only 400 student tickets sold "What is wrong? THOSE LAWS How those Law students shock the modesty of the young ladies at a rally. To express our opinion would place us between two fires. Anyway, they have been worse. Ladies, Gentlemen and Laws. How they must feel. OUR MISTAKE In justice to all parties concerned we wish to state that the article, having an advertising tone, and appearing in the September 28th issue of this publication, was sent to press without the most careful inspection because of its having been brought in late and during the rush hour. HOW ABOUT IT? How about Captain Rutherford's remark that, "there is more 'pep' out in the state for the football team than ther is in the University?" That may be, but the question is, should it be? OPPORTUNITY "Opportunity," says Mr. Dooley, "knocks at iv'ry man's dure wanst. On some men's dure it hamers till it breaks down th' dure, an' then it goes in and wakes him up if he's asleep, an' aftherwards is wurruks for him as a nightwatchman." Yes, we agree with Mr. Dooley. Such knocking most of us like. WRONG IMPRESSION The doctor said, "I couldn't help it for they confused me," referring to his talk of yesterday morning. AVe were always under the impression that the doctor was not easily rattled. A GOOD WORK Phi Alpha Tau is busy with a petition, the object of which is to re-instate debating as one of the student activities at Nebraska. Ranking as high as it did in debate several years ago why is it that this activity was discontinued. AVe are not alone in our lack of information. Some people say that the Spikes are not dead. Are they not supposed to be? They are. Friendship Links "We have every Fraterity and Sorority Ling in Stock. Serling Silver 25c.
