Miss Florence McGahey Re-elected as
Chairman Each Sorority Has
Delegates to the Council
Miss Florence McGahey hus been re
elected chnirman of the Pan-Hellenic
Council for next year. The council' is
made up of delegates from each so
rority in the University and makes the
rules for the sororities. Miss Doris
Scrogglns has been elected secretary.
The board for next year consists of
Miss Lulu Runo, Mrs. Herbert Avery,
Miss Louise Pound, Miss In;t Gittlngs,
and Miss McGiliey. Two delegates
are elected from each sorority to the

tennis courts are available for the use
of the thirty-five hundred students of
the University of Nebraska, We. the
undersigned students of the Univer
sity of Nebraska, respectfully petition
you to clear the land on black 12 of
the original plot of Lincoln, between
the proposed Chemistry Building and
the Athletic Field, in order that this
ground may be available for the con
struction of more tennis courts.'

The sixth annual banquet of the
Komensky Club of the State Univer
sity was held Thursday evening at
the Lincoln Hotel. Plates were laid
for forty. The toasts were taken
from old Bohemian proverbs and were
in Bohemian. Sarka Hrbkova, bead
of the department of Slavonic ran
guages, presided over the toast list
and Introduced the following: "Nvo
Roses Without Thorns," Miss Irene
SteidI; "What You Cook at Home
You Should Eat at Home," Walter B.
Sadilek: "When the Game Is the
Pleasantest, It Is Time to Quit." Miss
Kappa Alpha Theta Miss Lulu Mae Ruth Jelinek; "The Field Ripens for
Leon Samuelson, Law 15, and Wal
ter A. Hlxenbaugh, '16. have been se
lected by a committee of the World
Polity Club, composed of Dr. H.-B.
Alexander and Dr. Edwin Maxey, to
represent the club at the Peace Con
ference at Ithaca, New York, from
June 15 to June 30. They will accom
pany C'A. Sorensen, president of the
club. The three expect to leave for
the East about June 11.

Old Graduates Are Welcomed at the
Last Meeting of the Year

The annual aiumni program of the
Palladian Literary society was held in
the society's rooms in the Temple
building Friday evening. About fifty
students and alumni were present
The Palladians firn organized in 1871
and tbey now have several hundred
alumni. - y
