STAY OVER!
"Alumni festivities in most universi
ties are considered of enough impor
tance that every undergraduate not
only feels it a duty but a great privi-
tn remain and take part. This
year the program is elaborate enough
to make it Impossible for a student to
loarp th ramnus unless matters of
great moment make it necessary.
What the old grad likes to see is not
a campus divested of its life, but one
which revives the old days for him.
A deserted campus is about as inspir
ing as a dead and leafless tree. Let's
make the old halls ring! Examina
tions will be over and there will be
an opportunity to celebrate unchecked
by the consciousness that we should op."
be somewhere "plugging." The pa
geant, of course, everyone will attend.
The alumni carnival can be appreci
ated by all. There will be dancing in
the Armory; there will be stunts on
the campus green; there will be eats
in the Chapel; there will be gay
crowds everywhere. No one can af
ford to miss this great climax of the
school year.

An Appreciation
My fourth year of service with the
Band closed last Thursday. The mem
bers of this year's organization have
shown a spirit of loyalty combined
with musicianship which have placed
the present band on a much higher
plane than that of previous years. xIt
is hoped that this effort is "appreciated
by the University public. I am happy
to take advantage of the editor's sug
gestion to publicly thank the mem
bers of the Band for their enthusi-
Etay. It has meant hard work and
considerable sacrifice, but we have en
joyed it The paper could have been
better, but considering everj'thing, we
agement has made the more more en
are satisfied, and hope you are.
There are many unpleasant features
connected with publishing a colege
daily, but they are forgotten in the
joy and satisfaction of giving each
morning to a thousand or more stu
dents a written summary of the hap
penings and near happenings that are
of interest to them.
Our chief aims have been to make
the Nebraskan as representative as
possible and to make it stand for the
best things in school. As to what
degree we have succeeded in carrying
out those aims we are willing to let
you judge. Some have liked the
paper; some hive not Let us hope
that the latter mill be better pleased
in the future. As to the former, we
regret our leave-taking your encour-joyable.
