C. Higgins of the Western Electric Company to the electrical engineers last Wednesday morning. The beginning of telephony, the growth of the system and the perfec tion of the apparatus were all touched upon. The speaker used a number of slides -which emphasized the magni tude and importance of the telephone industry. He alsp told of the organi ration of the company which he repre sented. Nebraska, on April 14th. Mrs. Ballah was formerly Ellen Anderson. Delta Gamma, and Mr. Ballah is a member of Delta Tau Delta. Dwight Griswold of Gordon, Neb., has been visiting at the Alpha Tau Omega house tor several days. Mr. Griswold was graduated last year from the University and at present is cash ier in the bank at Gordon. The Kosmet Klub gave a banquet Tuesday night i nthe garden room of the Lincoln. Mrs. Currier will be remem bered as Miss Bernice Chambers, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Cham bers of Lincoln. Both Mr. and Mrs. Currier formerly attended the Univer sity of Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Harper, 19o0 Washington street .announce the en gagement of their daughter. Eloise to Robert V. Evans of Missoula. Mont. Miss Harper completed the course at the university conservatory as super visor of music. Since then she has been musical instructor at the Whit- ton-Carlyle school. She is a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Mr. Evans was graduated from the forestry- department of the Nebraska university and is professor of botany at the'Mon- tana university.
