Earl Montgomery, a senior in the
Medical School in Omaha and a mem

George W. English, ex'13. engineer,
and Miss Hazel Browning of Fnirbury
were quietly married at the home of
ihe bride Wednesday evening. Mr.
English now owns and operates the
English Cash Grocery in Fairbury.

Svlvester Shonka, former captain
of-Xebraska football team, has been
in Lincoln this week assisting in
coaching the football team. WLile
here he has been a guest at the Delta
Chi house. Mr. Shonka is a lawyer of
David City.
A farewell reception was given to
Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Rice, former Uni
versity students, at the First Chris
tian church, Thursday evening. Mr.
and Mrs. Rice will leave Lincoln this
week and will sail October 11 from
Xew York for Lamoh, India.
Ralph Paine Benedict, who attended
the University in 1SS4, will be married
early in November to Miss Elsie Yan
degrift at Denver. Colo. Mr. Benedict,
who joined Delta Ufpsilon at Harvard
College, attended the University for
one year. He is now a newspaper
man in Denver. Miss Vandegrift has
been working for suffrage in Nebras
ka for several weeks, being employed
by the national suffrage organization.
She has held many meetings in Oma
ha and spoke in Lincoln Wednesday
evening.
