The English Club will suffer on ac count of the European war, as Pro fessors Prye, Buck and Gass, the life of the club, will n6t be here for some time. Miss Esther Stanett has returned from a six months trip to Europe. She was detained in Paris two weeks, but reached home without any fur ther difficulty. Miss Gladys Bunt, Delta Gamma, is! teaching in Minneapolis this year. She was very prominent in social af fairs last year, being best remem bered as president of the Black Masques, and Queeu of the May. The freshmen girls will be looking forward to the party Saturday after noon, the first big party of the Girls' Club. Upper classmen be sure to get the name of a freshman girl to escort to the affair, and do it In time to send her a written Invitation. Miss Florence Frost and Mr. John Baird of St. "Joseph, Missouri, were married this summer, quite unexpect edly. Miss Frost was a. ..member of the Tri Delta sorority, and Mr. .Baird, who attended the University only two years, was an Iron Sphinx. Miss Esther Warner, 1912, and Miss Hazel Snell, 1913, have gone to Co lumbia University for a year's study. Both are members of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, and Miss Warner has been teaching since her graduation. The Saturday before they left, 1 luncheon was given in their honor by Mrs. John Baird of St. Joseph, Mis souri, formerly Miss Florence Frost of this city. Miss Marian Pettis and Miss, Made leine Stivers spent the week-end at their homes in this city. Both came to be present on pledging day at the Alpha Phi house, returning Sunday night to the towns where they are teaching, Miss Pettis at West Point, Miss Stivers at Tecumseh. The comments on the style of boys' hats this year are not at all flatter ing. A couple of sorority girls sat in the window of the Classical Library, passing remarks on the boys whom they saw crossing the campus, and the aforesaid remarks were anything but complimentary.
