Wednesday, April 29, 1914 On Friday afternoon, on Nebraska Field, the soccer team of Lincoln will meet Omaha. Coach Stlehm has worked hard to secure this date and hopes that the University will turn out. The fact that thoro will bo no ""admission ought- to assure it large crowd. Some "classy little paper" Is being prepared by the girls for their edition of the "Rag." Practically all of tho material is In, including the cartoons and pictures. STUDENT COUNCIL AGAIN FAILS TO MATERIALIZE Less Than Half the Delegates Present Yesterday Morning Postponed for One Week. Yesterday morning during tho con vocation period the student council convention was to have been held, but less than half of the members of tho convention were present, so the meeting was necessarily postponed. A last chance will bo given the tardy membors who have not as yet attend ed tho meetings. It looks as if the war were over. Tho Stato Military Board have folded their tents and gone home. Business, is very dull. Tho clouds of war are fast dissipating themselves. To cap tho climax, Governor Morehead has received -word -that Lieutenant- -Bow-man will not be relieved of his duties ns a first lieutenant to become colonel of tho Sixth Regiment of Nebraska unless war breaks out, which seems very improbable. NEBRASKA ONE OF FEW GILLS' PHYS ED SCHOOLS Only Vassar Besides Nebraska Has Girls' Track Meet Other Schools Not In Line. Tho Physical Education department have been corresponding with about thirty colleges and universities which offer gymnasium work for girls. Vas sar 1b tho only school that has a track meet for girls besides Nebraska. The records for races are not as high as Nebraska, although they excel us in tho shot-put nnd the basket-ball throw. Iowa and Wisconsin offer no track work lor girls and Smith and Welles ley, which boasts of Its flno gymnastic work, offers no special compotltlvo work either for the Individual girl or for a team.
