" As to the question of adequate sup port for a university representing the state of Nebraska, properly housed and equipped. Chancellor Avery said that he had faith in the action of the people on the matter. The University is fulfilling a public service by supply ing expert assistance in many lines of public activity And the people will undoubtedly reciprocate by just recog nition of the financial needs of the school. In conclusion, the Chancellor said "Personally, I havo no fear that the last phase of the last crisis will not be successfully passed, and I am sure that the influence of the students will be united with faculty, alumni and other friends of the institution in bringing about this result. The state Is progressing in knowledge and cul ture, the character of each incoming class reflects the progress of the state. In spite of drouth tho enrollment is larger than ever before in the history of the institution. Greater internal harmony has never prevailed. Hence , I feel that all who love their univer- slt without regard to their personal i interests may feel confident of its fu- i , ture prosperity." Ted Marriner Cleaner, Hatter, and Repairer.
