(Contlnuod from Page 1.) Inconceivable today are truisms of to-j morrow. ' GenluB Is made, not bom. In 18G5 : FranclB Galton wrote the first book on ! the science of Eugenics, the science of i being well born. His major premise , was: All genius s Is inherited; his i minor premise, gonitis Is Irrepressible, j for it is apparent and cannot bo kept , down. Groat men are very few, yet they had a largo part In history. Few men in the past have been agents of civilization. Men of genius are far more plentiful than wo are led to be llovo. If Franco should lose her poets, artists .and authors, she would be a body without a soul. The idealist, the dreamer in science has produced all tho evolution. Men of action have added little except to change tho map. Concerning Intellectual equality It Is I true that In each society classes are oqual as to quantity of latent genius. Hut it has not been established that races are potentially equal In dynamic spiritual power. In Franco, put of 619 men of talent, only 57 were poor men, and thoso from eight-tenths of the population, and yet the rich man has flftv times tho advantages of tho noorr one TheTry-outs for the Girls' Glee Club Witness the tIbo of Japan. Director Kimball is planning to fin ally complete the School of Music building. Whon tho building was erect ed it was expected to add a third Btory for dormitory purposes when condi tions should demand it. Later develop ments have arisen to change tho orig inal plans and the present idea is to remove the dormitory from the build ing altogether as soon as possible. All that 1b necessary to finish tho build ing, then, is the addition of a copper cornice and this will be completed be fore winter. The next faculty recital will be given in Memorial Hall on October , 25th. A program of "Chamber Music," , the fli'Bt one to be given under the auspices of the Conservatory, will be t rondercd. The recital will be given by I the Steckolberg String Quartet. Another Wedding. An amendment to the list of Univer sity weddings during the past summer must be made.
