From the interest" manifested In
tho local tennis tournament this

dangling at their belts. While the
Indians have a good team m on'1
expects them to win from Minnesota.
However, thoy will nut, up a good

VERSITY. The Uiblo Study dinner in tho Y.
M. C. A. rooms tonight promises to

because it marks the Initiation of
tho annual HI bio Stuov dinner Into
tho llfo of tho association.
The HI hie classes aro led el tho r by
tho members taTTiuTTinrns"; "or by 71
loader appointed by the committee
having tho work In charge. No sot
program Is used but each leader
follows his own plan aided by sugges

tee. This mothod gives tho utmost
freodom to Informal -tliHousslonK and
produces a feeling of sympathy and
equality of man to man.
The object or these classes is to in
duce a dally ana systematic stuay of
tho Hlblo. Many colleges and unlvor-
Bibles havo recognized the Xact tliat
no man's education is complete wlth
oub a knowledgo of Its teachings and
have accordingly placed It in the
curriculum.
' Tho Importance of a close acquaint
ance with tho Hlolo is ton thoroughly
recognized by all loading educators
for any man to question tho validity
of its study, and tho young man who
goes through tho university without
having gained a knowledgo of Its
fundamental toachlngs, will, Roonor
or later, wake up to tho fagt that ho
miBsed tho most important part of
his coilogo courso.
A NEW DEPARTURE IN LEGAL
EDUCATION. "A LEGAL
CLIN 10. "
A rather novol departure In tho
Law School of tho University of
Ponnsylyanla has been Instituted
bhiB year by Assistant Professor Rob
erts. II o calls it a Logal Clinic or
Seminar, for want of somo more
oxact definition. Tho Somlnar is
opon only to thlra year men, and Is
limited In number to twelve.
Tho work bo bo taken up this year
will bo discussion of tho cases In the
advanco Reports of tho Supremo
Court of Pennsylvania. Tho mothod
will bo to have tho history of the
case road, then to engago In a general
discussion of tho procedural feabures
of bho oase, bho nauiro or tho romo
dy, obher romedles available, etc.
Tho mon will then bo askea for
opinions upon tho points Involved In
tho case and tho mothod of their
presentation to an appollato court. A
deciBlon on tho caSo will bo reached
after this conference, and then tho
opinion of the Supremo Court will bo
reaa by somo member of tho class to
seo how nearly tl'o Judgment formed
accords with-tho rcsulb reached by
tho court. The decision will then be
tested in bho lighb of thu authorities
cited by tho court.
Tho benefits which it is bellovod
will accrno from this work aro o,'
8overal sorts. In tho llrst place, it
will familiarize the mon with tho
various forms of procedure and witli
tho practical sldo of tho presentation
of points of law. It will also servo as
a review or all the work that the men
havo dono throughout their law
school courso, as tho cases will be
read Indiscriminately in their order
as reported. Further, the decision
or tho case by tho class, before read
ing tho opinion of the court, will
sorvo to help tho men on a sound
legal jhdgment on complicated state
ments of fact. It is believed that
the tnorough drill in case analysis
that will ithus be gained cannot fail
to 1)0 of Hervico in actual work at
the liar. Last but not least, it will
familiari.e the class with the current
cases in Pennsylvania and render
them ready in tho citation of the
late authorities on the points covered
by the decisions read.
